Baku, 10 March 2023 - Today, the "Development of a Climate Resilient Water Safety Plan" kick-off meeting of the new initiative was held at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The goal of the project, implemented by UNICEF in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, is to assess the efficiency of the drinking water supply system from the source to the consumer in the selected basin in connection with the sustainable management of water resources.
The program will include measurements related to the monitoring of quantitative and qualitative guidelines of water resources, the assessment of the population's access to water and the supply system from the source to the consumer, the promotion of the public's efficient use of water, the elimination of existing deficiencies and more efficient use of water.
Within the framework of the programme, a special task force will be formed that will acquire the necessary skills to develop a climate-resilient water safety plan for the selected water supply system, manage risks related to water supply, and ensure its sustainability.
