UNICEF and the Ministry of Justice work together to strengthen juvenile justice system in Azerbaijan

13 March 2023

Baku, 13 March 2023 - UNICEF and the Ministry organized a workshop on Access to Justice for Children and Child-friendly Justice for the judges, bailiff, and probation officers in Goychay, Agdash, Kurdamir, Agsu, Ismayilli, and Sheki districts of Azerbaijan.

The event provided an opportunity to present the recent developments in child justice and facilitate a discussion on applying child-friendly communication guidelines in judicial procedures. One of the main topics of the event was to discuss the protection of juveniles and the necessity of psychosocial rehabilitation services.

UNICEF is working with its partners to strengthen the juvenile justice system in Azerbaijan through child-friendly communication, the involvement of psychologists and social workers in judicial procedures, and cross-sectoral collaboration.
