On August 2, 2023, a scientific-practical conference dedicated to "World Breastfeeding Week" was held at the Scientific-Research Pediatrics Institute named after K.Y. Farajova.
The purpose of holding the conference is to emphasize the importance of breastfeeding, contribute to the capacity building of healthcare workers, and promote breastfeeding in society.
It should be noted that August 1-7 is declared World Breastfeeding Week. This date is celebrated globally, and locally by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization, and other organizations in accordance with the "Innocenti Declaration" on the protection, promotion, and support of breastfeeding, adopted in August 1990.
