UNICEF supports media training for school children
BAKU, 1 May 2005 - Youth of Azerbaijan have something new and exciting in store this May. Internews Azerbaijan Public Association with the support of UNICEF has launched a one-month training program on broadcast media with a vision to promote youth participation. The training sessions are designed to educate school children on media activities, production and broadcasting. The purpose of the training is to develop a team of students who will produce Kids' Crossroads, a UNICEF-supported TV program.
Consequently, the joint venture is anticipated to lay ground for the set up of a Youth Media Center in Ganja. The establishment of the Center will serve as permanent base for regular training sessions for kids and youth on broadcasting and journalism in the future.
The trainees will be short-listed in June in order to build a team for the Kids' Crossroads.
