How gender responsive is education in Armenia
There is an abundance of research and evidence, describing how our unintentional, implicit bias around gender roles influences the development of school textbooks and classroom practices, which in turn influence the perceptions of boys and girls on gender roles, as well as academic interests and subsequent career paths. From 2019-2021, with the support of UNICEF National Committee for Switzerland and Lichtenstein, UNICEF country office in Armenia set out to improve teaching through the development of materials for teachers and students that are gender-responsive, as well as development of professional training opportunities for teachers.
