On November 20, 2017 Armenia joined UNICEF’s global Children Takeover campaign dedicated to World Children’s Day.

On that day National Assembly of Armenia joined UNICEF’s global campaign to help to give a voice to children.A special session taken over by five adolescent speakers was held in the National Assembly of Armenia that was live streamed and viewed nationally. The session was chaired by the President of the National Assembly and three chairs of Standing Committees, as well as attended by high level policy makers and about 100 adolescents. It was live streamed

In the frame of this global campaign children from all around the world will be taking over key roles in media, politics, business, sport and entertainment to voice their support for millions of their peers who are unschooled, unprotected and uprooted.

With adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child the world made a promise to children that it will do everything in its power to protect and promote their rights to survive and thrive, to learn and grow, to make their voices heard and reach their full potential.

At the session children voiced the problems they are facing and the solutions they see to solve that problems.

Ani talks about the importance of inclusion on education for children with and without disability. She urges the government to ensure equal opportunities for students and develop the quality of inclusive education in Armenia. Feel free to share and spread the word!

"I dream of becoming a special needs educator, and I’m sure I’ll be able to make it come true. I want to prove that we can do much more than the opportunities we’re given."
