Highlights

Explosive weapons, especially in densely populated areas, pose a severe risk to children worldwide. Although children are not responsible for war, they endure its lifelong consequences, including physical injuries and psychological trauma.

To protect children from explosive weapons, UNICEF and the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise of Duru have created an educational resource for fourth-grade students. This resource raises awareness about the risks and teaches mitigation strategies, offering essential, life-saving information to safeguard children and their families.

The module presents familiar scenarios for children, teaches appropriate behavior, and helps them recognize risk signs.
