Highlights

Teachers play an important role in making sure that all students feel safe, supported and included at school. When their families face multiple challenges, it becomes very difficult for students with or without disabilities to continue to learn as efficiently.

This guidebook is designed for teachers whose students, with or without disabilities, have parents that are dealing with difficult life circumstances. It will help you understand the different needs that your students might have and how you can support them and their families to get through hard times. It will also help you in linking these challenges and barriers to specific solutions and provide you with examples and resources.

It is part of a set of resources, produced by UNICEF, for caregivers of children with disabilities, their teachers and schools.
