Highlights
- 22.9 million people, more than half of them children, remain in need of life-saving assistance due to the combined effects of conflict, climate shocks, natural disasters, and economic collapse.
- In August, 9,750 public school and community-based teachers (30% women) received training to strengthen teaching quality and learning outcomes.
- UNICEF and WFP launched the Joint Action Plan to Stop Child Wasting in Afghanistan, aligning with updated WHO guidelines and introducing more efficient and coordinated approaches to prevent and manage child wasting.
- 2.31 million children and caregivers (48% girls and women), including 190 children with disabilities, accessed child protection services for prevention, risk mitigation, and response.
