UNICEF Executive Board

Field visits

Français  Español

Executive Board members have been taking part in organized field visits to UNICEF programme countries since 1993. The destination is selected by the Bureau – in consultation with OSEB and the regional groups and with the concurrence of the concerned Government – based on the options presented by the relevant UNICEF regional and country offices. The destination of the joint field visit of the Executive Boards is agreed by the four Bureaux (UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS, UN-Women, UNICEF and WFP), in consultation with the respective secretariats.

All visited are organized in accordance with the field visit guidelines (E/ICEF/2004/19) adopted by the Board in decision 2004/13.

In accordance with decision 2018/14, starting in 2019, there will be two types of yearly visits: (1) by members of the Executive Board; and (2) a joint visit by the members of the Executive Boards of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS, UNICEF, UN-Women and WFP.
