Consultancy Assignment: WASH Project Manager in WASH Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a consultancy for a WASH Project Manager  in WASH Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Qualification/level requirements:

 Degree in engineering, social science, environmental health, water and sanitation, and appropriate post-graduate qualifications;
 Five-eight years of professional development experience in the WASH sector including experience in emergency response and contingency planning;
 Experience in implementing, designing or coordinating WASH in Schools programmes;
 Familiarity with community-based sanitation programs, and with a diversity of latrine designs for rural communities;
 Ability to effectively coordinate with government, NGO and local stakeholders essential; an understanding of sector coordination mechanisms an asset;
 Ability to formulate policy recommendations and conduct advocacy at the policy level;
 Analytical and conceptual ability; demonstrated understanding of survey design and social research methods to understand hygiene and sanitation behavior change;
 Technical experience in construction and WASH in the Central Asian context;
 Project and advanced Contract Management experience with multi-million dollar construction/renovation projects;
 Experience in conducting capacity development in WASH at the local and sector levels;
 Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization;
 Prior work experience in the CEE/CIS regions, understanding of the political context an asset.
