Sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in West and Central Africa
This document analyses the situation of sexual abuses and exploitation of children and adolescents in West and Central Africa since the Arab-African Conference of Rabat in 2004. It has been prepared for the regional technical preparatory meeting to the World Congress III against sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (Rio, 25-28 November 2008), held in Dakar on 24-25 September. It presents the evolution of the phenomena, the actions undertaken to combat the different forms of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents and gives recommendations. It is based on the desk review of litterature, the analysis of country reports and survey results from the 24 countries of West and Central Africa.
