Since 1920, World Scout Jamborees have been held almost every four years, except during the Second World War, and hosted all over the world. The 21st World Scout Jamboree will help mark the Centenary of Scouting, with over 40,000 Scouts attending from almost every country in the world.
UNICEF works with Scouting in several countries to deliver rights-based education and provide opportunities for young people to engage with their community to make a real difference. Projects within the overall partnerships are at many levels from global to local and they vary in nature from short term practical projects to longer term advocacy on behalf of the world’s children.
Voices of Youth and Scouts
The Scouts had the opportunity to participate in various Voices of Youth activities by learning about the Convention on the Rights of the Child by selecting one of the articles and telling us why they think that article is important; A world Fit for children by giving inputs on what they would like this world to be; HIV campaign to lend a hand to free babies from HIV; you can find more information about this campaing by visiting the UNICEF UK Youth Voice site (External link).
We would also like to invite you to visit the 21st Scouts jamboree website to learn more about the Scouts:
