Living in a drought stricken area with major water shortages, children living in poverty are not able to wash themselves for months (Gujarat, India). In addition, when forests are cleared, the topsoil is quickly washed away, so the land actually becomes infertile and useless for farming. This is a classic example of unsustainable development. |
