Youth-friendly version of Optional Protocol to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict (OPAC)

Introduction

New generations are the hope of humanity and can someday create peace.

Get on the Rights side: A youth-friendly version of the Optional Protocol to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict (OPAC).

" UNICEF Canada has developed an accurate version of OPAC in youth-friendly language called "Get on the Rights side" to inform and educate Canadian children and young people (under 18) of their rights in consideration of entry to the Canadian Forces. "Get on the Rights side", available in English and French distils essential information in OPAC. It is a short booklet that is easily portable.

Whereas "Get on the Rights side" is addressed to Canadian children and youth, it is a resource that can easily be adapted by countries interested in promoting children’s rights under OPAC.
