Girls from the Akha ethnic group learn skills at the Mae Chan Hilltribe Centre in northern Thailand. With these skills the girls and women will have employment options so they do not need to become involved with prostitution, or can stop if they are already being exploited. The centre pays them US$2 a day, plus a lunch allowance, so they can support themselves while training.
