Children who accept gifts or favours from a man or woman in exchange for sex often remain in their communities and homes. The man or woman may even provide shelter and protection. Either way, what is provided may be desperately needed or wanted. Also, because the children have a continuing relationship with the adult, you might think there may be an element of trust, and the children will not face the same dangers as they would on the streets or in a brothel (a place offering sexual services).
