But the exploitation of children for sex in exchange for gifts or rewards is essentially the same as when someone visits a brothel, or travels to a tourist destination and sexually abuses a child. In each case, adults are taking advantage of an unequal relationship. They are using their superior wealth, power or status to deny children their rights.
