The Convention on the Rights of the Child says that you have the right to a standard of care that ensures your wellbeing, and that your best interests should be put first. It also says that you have the right to alternative care if your parents can't look after you. Examples of alternative care include fostering (placing you in a household which may be given financial help to look after you), kafalah (the Islamic form of fostering) or adoption (in which adults permanently take on the role of parents), or, 'if necessary', putting you in an institution such as an orphanage.
