Summary: Re Ka Kgona - We Can! presents the innovative Dzalobana Bosele Arts Festival in Botswana which is a youth organised and implemented month long national event taking place in a multitude of venues. Through community theatre, music, dance, life skills training and voluntary counselling and testing activities conducted throughout the year across Botswana. The festival process and activities are explained through intimate interviews with three young HIV/AIDS activists who are involved in the organisation of the festival. The video shows how young people can take the lead in intensifying the national response together with government and other national partners. It is also highlighting some of the key actions required to make a festival of this nature possible. The video demonstrates how an art of performances festival with a mix of youth-led interventions can be used by countries to accelerate programming around HIV prevention. |
