UNICEF gives a voice to youth
New York, 28 February 2011 – UNICEF has launched Voices of Youth (VOY), UNICEF’s global platform for young people (15-24) who want to explore and discuss issues central to UNICEF’s mandate and major social issues, such as the environment, HIV and AIDS and human rights. It has resources, articles and ways to share and contribute to the discussion.
Originally started in 1995, Voices of Youth has become a global brand for youth engagement. VOY provides a platform where young people and adolescents can discuss topics related to UNICEF and the issues affecting their lives. It serves as a way to reach youth constituencies for feedback on what is important to them, as well as a way to learn from, and contribute to, ongoing youth-based conversation. VOY also provides a platform from which to publicize local events and initiatives to a global audience.
