Note: At the beginning of the academic year, the net enrolment rate to grades 6, 7 and 8 (the 12-14 age group) for girls was 67.3% in rural areas. The corresponding rate for boys was 82.2%. In urban areas, the rates were 79.8% and 89.8% respectively. SIS 2002.
