Why donate to UNICEF?

UNICEF has been helping children in Thailand for more than 60 years, and we continue to provide vital support to essential programmes that both promote and protect the rights and well being of children across the country.

UNICEF is entirely funded through voluntary contributions, and the assistance we are able to provide to programmes for children in Thailand very much depends on the funding we are able to raise locally.  The funds you donate will be used to help make a real difference in the lives of needy children.

Ways to give

UNICEF encourages individuals to become pledge donors and to make regular monthly contributions in support of our programmes, or to make one-time or occasional donations whenever they are able to. UNICEF solicits – and you can make donations – through the following ways:

Direct donations

Download a donation form (English version) or (Thai version), and then fill it out and mail or fax it to us as per the instructions on the form.  You can also e-mail the form to us at psfrbangkok@unicef.org.  All of the information on the form is treated in the strictest confidence.

Direct mail fundraising appeals

UNICEF mails out occasional fundraising appeals to our existing donors as well as to individuals in an effort to recruit new donors.  Direct mail fundraising appeals to enlist new donors are also carried out with our corporate partners. These mailings are usually co-branded by UNICEF and our respective partner and are sent out to their members to invite them to become supporters of UNICEF.

Direct Donor Recruitment Programme (DDRP)/ Face-to-face

The Direct Donor Recruitment Programme (DDRP) or popularly known as face-to-face programme is being carried out for  UNICEF  in high pedestrian traffic areas, such as at shopping malls, office buildings and during exhibitions and events in and around Bangkok.  As its name implies, it is a person-to-person  recruitment method that involves asking individuals to make monthly donations to UNICEF via a secure credit card system.

DDRP is a  fundraising method that is being used successfully by  many established charitable/development organizations throughout the world.  Although relatively new in Thailand, DDRP is proving to be very successful thanks to the goodwill of Thai people.  It is providing us with a sustained and steady stream of funding that is allowing us to support even more programmes for children.
