A Wishbook

Qat Addiction

Fact:
Qat rots teeth, wastes energy and is addictive. It also wastes money.

"Everyone knows qat is a very serious problem in our community. Men are spending a lot of money on qat instead of spending it on food for their family. Qat is disastrous for the economy, it damages your health and, socially, it is very destructive."

Hawa Isse Mohammed,
representative of a
women's group in Bossaso.

No bigger sin...

Think about the different issues Hawa talks about.

What solutions can you think of?

Say what you think.

Theatre Game

A girl acts the role of a father who wants to go and chew qat with his friends. A boy acts being the wife. They talk about this. Can they come to some agreement?

After this, have your own group discussion.

Who do you think was in the right?
