Planning a weekly schedule
Your weekly schedule is based on your school curriculum, plus the introduction of learning projects, community topics and special events.
Each week, your goal is to balance the introduction of new materials and information with review, and with the use of skills and knowledge to accomplish meaningful goals.
To facilitate review, and to put skills and knowledge to use, look for opportunities to introduce skills that children have learned into work in other subjects.
For example, in a fifth-grade class you might introduce computing the mean, median, and mode into a unit on weather, by engaging learners in computations based on their own observations and records.
