Through the eyes of the children

The Nature of East Timor

Octavia Ximenes Borges

East Timor has a beautiful natural environment. It has a lot of natural resources such as oil, gold, silver and so on.

East Timor's natural resources are very important for the children of Timor. We are very proud of them, because they are very valuable for our livelihood. East Timor is very large and picturesque, as is its nature. The community really needs their daily source of income from nature or the forest. Many tourists come here because they really like East Timor.

We have to work hard to produce food for our everyday needs. The people in the rural areas can only work rice paddies and plant rice. There are many big trees and wild animals in the mountains. The big trees are hardwood, coconut palms and so on. That's my story about East Timor's nature.
