Post Title: Programme Assistant, Nutrition, on Temporary Fixed Term at GS 5 level
Duration: 1 year
Duty Station: UNICEF, Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Closing date: 08 January 2009
Duties and responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of Nutrition Officer, contributes to planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Nutrition projects.
1. Collects data and other information on development and/or subject-matter activities of the country related to the project.
2. Maintains, logs, files and updates records in prescribed format for subsequent use.
3. Processes and examines the information and data in accordance with instructions received, making necessary abstracts and computations.
4. Maintains and keeps current registers and control plans on the status of projects at the formulation, implementation and operational stages. .
5. Prepares background material, working papers and tables for briefing and review sessions.
6. Summarizes information reflecting current obligations and future programme and/or budgetary implications.
7. May be required to carry out administrative and operational/control tasks for programme/project implementation.
8. Undertake field visits to monitor programmes implementation
Qualification:
University or technical education in Public Health, Medical Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Nutrition, Social Sciences or any related fields • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably with International organizations • good communication and negotiation skills • ability to learn quickly and apply procedures in an international organization • professional writing skills • good knowledge of computer applications • ability to work in a team • fluency in English, Tajik and Russian
