Governments in Central Asia discuss the road ahead to include children with disabilities into society - Child Protection Forum for Central Asia to be held on 1-3 August in Dushanbe, Tajikistan


WHAT
A press briefing with top level government delegations and UNICEF at the start of the Fourth Child Protection Forum for Central Asia. It will highlight progress and commitments to make societies more inclusive for children with disabilities, one of the most vulnerable, excluded and invisible groups of children.

WHY
As the five Central Asian countries are in their process of signing, ratifying or implementing the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the three-day Child Protection Forum will discuss obligations of countries for ensuring the realization of the rights of children with disabilities. Governments have vowed to define the road maps ahead for further implementing new policies and legislation in child protection, education, health and social protection that would ensure such rights.
