CONTRACTOR(S) TO DRILL AND CONSTRUCT 200 BOREHOLES AND EQUIP WITH TYPE “B” BUSHPUMPS IN SELECTED DISTRICTS OF IN ZIMBABWE

UNICEF Zimbabwe and the Government of Zimbabwe, with funding from DFID, have embarked on a Rural Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Project – “Support to Improving Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Rural Areas of Zimbabwe”. The Project intends to provide support to the local authorities in Zimbabwe through drilling 200 boreholes and fitting with Type “B” Bushpump for drinking water supplies in ten selected districts namely: Umguza, Nkayi, Umzingwane, Matobo, Gokwe South, Mberengwa, Hurungwe, Mhondoro, Masvingo, and Mwenezi.

Through this RFP, UNICEF is inviting interested and qualified Contractors to undertake to drill and construct 200 boreholes and equip them with Type "B" Bushpumps in ten rural districts in Zimbabwe.

This RFP represents the third phase of UNICEF's Borehole Drilling Project for the current UNICEF Country Programme.

This RFP is open to experienced drilling Contractors who are legally registered in Zimbabwe through a Certificate of Incorporation as a Zimbabwean Company.

A Bidders Conference for interested drilling Contractors will be held on Friday 18th October 2013 at the UNICEF premises in Harare to facilitate a detailed Q & A Session.

The closing date of the RFP is Monday, 4th November 2013

Eligible and qualified contractors (local and international) with established registration to operate and work in Zimbabwe and currently experienced in drilling boreholes are invited to participate.
