On 23 October 2009, UNICEF Supply Division welcomed participants from Industry and the Special Envoy's Office for Malaria to the annual Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) Suppliers’ Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The meeting between LLINs suppliers and UNICEF was scheduled before the issuance of the 2010 tender for establishing Long Term Agreements for procurement of LLINs. The main objectives of the meeting were: to inform participants about the UNICEF LLINs forecast and 2010 tender process, to provide an overview of the activities in the past years, and to give an update on future plans and various innovation activities supported by UNICEF.
The Senior Advisor to the UN Special Envoy for Malaria shared information on global trends and efforts under way to meet LLINs Universal Coverage target by the end of 2010.
