Child protection officer (NOB) - Malakal

Purpose of the post

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Field Office, Malakal and the technical guidance of the Chief of Child Protection, you will contribute to project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of child protection programme/project activities, undertake data analysis and progress reporting for the three states Upper Nile, Unity and Jonglei.


Minimum qualifications and experience required

  • University degree in Social Sciences, or related technical field. 
  • Minimum two years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international level in programme management, monitoring and evaluation in related field. Experience working with children associated with armed forces and groups would be an advantage.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is an asset.

Other skills and attributes

  • Knowledge of latest developments in the area of child protection, including those in Southern Sudan. 
  • Analytical, negotiation, communication and advocacy skills.
  • Knowledge of project design, planning, implementation and monitoring and ability to apply them on daily work
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to work with computer and to use Microsoft Office Word 2003 or 2007 applications for daily work

Remuneration  

An attractive package will be available at the applicable UN salary scale.
