Children’s Hackathon: Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC@25)
This year we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC@25). In order to mark the 25th anniversary year of the CRC, UNICEF has declared 2014 as the Year of Innovation for Children.
In this spirit of innovation, UNICEF together with the Ministry of Education, ICTA, Microsoft and Google is organizing a Children’s Hackathon in October 2014. This Children’s Hackathon is expected to provide innovative tech-based solutions for issues faced by children in Sri Lanka, especially most vulnerable and excluded children in this digital age.
We would like to invite all schools in Sri Lanka (government, semi-government and private) to enter one team from your school for this Hackathon. Find out more details through the below links.
The Hackathon winners will receive EXCITING PRIZES! If the winning idea offers an unique solution for vulnerable children, it will be studied by UNICEF’s Global Innovation Lab and will offer funds to develop and replicate it!
