Overall, more than 120 supporting events took place during the Special Session, not including 36 regional and thematic NGO caucuses. These events are described in unofficial summaries below.

Headline events

What came to be known as "constituency events" brought together, in a series of high-profile workshops and dialogues, key professional, affinity or sectoral partners with major roles to play in building a Global Movement for Children. These partners included religious leaders, mayors, paediatricians, women's leaders, corporate CEOs and others.
