Progress made: Increase in contraceptive use; decrease in fertility rates. 57% contraceptive prevalence; 3.2 fertility rate 67% contraceptive prevalence; 2.7 fertility rate Contraceptive prevalence has increased by 10% globally and doubled in the least developed countries. About two thirds of the worlds women of reproductive age who are in marriage or union are using a contraceptive method. The fertility rate is highest in the Sub-Saharan region, which also has the highest teenage fertility rate. |
