Progress made: Exclusive breastfeeding of infants 0-3 months increased by 10%. 42% of all infants (0-3 months) 46% of all infants (0-3 months) Complementary feeding between age 6 and 9 months has also increased from 43% to 49%. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) has been implemented in over 15,000 hospitals in 136 countries. Continued breastfeeding levels remain relatively high at one year of age (81%), but only half of all children are breastfeeding by their second birthday. |
