Parliamentarians are uniquely well-placed - and, as such, have a unique responsibility - to be among the foremost champions for the children and AIDS campaign:
Inter Parliamentary Union
The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in collaboration with UNICEF will be holding a panel discussion on Children and HIV/AIDS at the forthcoming 114th assemble of the IPU, to be held in Nairobi in May 2006.
The Panel on Children and HIV/AIDS is designed to provide an overview of impact of HIV and AIDS on children, especially on girls and women, and the impact of HIV and AIDS on the overall development of a country. The panel will focus on some key issues and reflect on what parliamentarians and elected officials can do as leaders and advocates for their constituents.
