National Committee and Governance Specialist, P-3, Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division, Geneva, Switzerland

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks a National Committee and Governance Specialist to be based in its Office in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Governance Section has been set up to develop, coordinate and monitor policies and procedures that provide a framework, and guidance, for PFP internal and external stakeholders, especially the 36 UNICEF National Committees, to optimize resources and outcomes within their areas of responsibilities, notably, but not exclusively, in areas related to governance.
Under the leadership and guidance of the Chief of the Section, the Governance Specialist contributes to the systematic approach to improved National Committee governance, accountability, transparency and enhanced compliance with processes and agreements, including within UNICEF.
Ongoing specialist support in the area of governance will significantly strengthen National Committees' overall performance and protect the UNICEF brand and image. It will help strengthen PFP's internal review and monitoring processes with respect to managing the relationship between UNICEF and National Committees.

Your profile:
. Advanced university degree in law, business, corporate governance or audit, or related field.
. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience at the international level in law, audit, not-for-profit or corporate governance. Additional experience in knowledge and information management and sharing an asset. Knowledge of the unique National Committee structure is an asset.
. Strong research and analytical skills.
. Strong planning and conceptualization and project management skills.
. Excellent writing skills.
. Strong negotiation skills.
. Strong presentation skills.
. Excellent team player with ability and experience in complex international environments.
. Ability to conceptualize and to implement training is a definite asset.
. IT skills, including internet navigation and various office applications.
. Experience in designing web-based information systems.  Other experience in developing customised information systems and applications is an asset.
. Ability to establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of UN or other languages relevant for collaboration with National Committees would be an asset.
