Human Resources Specialist (Learning and Training in the area of Leadership and Management), P-4, Division of Human Resources, New York Headquarters

UNICEF seeks a Human Resources Specialist (Learning and Training in the area of Leadership and Management) to be based in its Division of Human Resources, New York Headquarters.

You will provide technical support for the planning, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of organizational learning programmes in management and leadership development. You will directly supervise the core development, mid-level management and the leadership programmes, coordinate the development and implementation of managerial performance improvements and leadership programmes for all levels of staff.

Your profile:
Advanced university degree in social sciences: specialization in human resources development or organizational development/behaviour, an advantage.
Proven ability to develop training/learning curricula for adult learners.
Demonstrable understanding of how adults acquire and use knowledge, skills and attitudes; and of individual and cultural differences in learning. Knowledge of group and organizational psychology.
Knowledge of electronic systems for training (computer-based training, interactive media).
Eight years of professional work experience in human resources development in a professional capacity. International assignments and/or work in international organizations desirable.
Experience and skills in needs assessment and instructional design; organizational development and behavior.
Identifying the knowledge and skill requirements of jobs, tasks and roles. Designing appropriate learning interventions.
Knowledge and practice of group process facilitation and group/individual training delivery.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and develop effective work practices and procedures and to supervise the work of others, through team and participatory approaches.
Ability to innovate and develop new strategy and approaches, and to communicate ideas and concepts clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Excellent presentation and communication skills required.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working and coaching relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
