Zambia: Providing basic education despite lack of resources

In Sub-Saharan Africa, almost 40 million children of primary school age are not in school. In a Lusaka shanty township, eleven-year-old Remmy is the first child in his family to go to school. The Ng'ombe Open Community School has no roof against rain and hot sun and few teaching aids. But it provides children such as Remmy with their only opportunity to get an education.
