Yemen: Educating girls means changing lives for generations

Yemen is a poor, traditional society with one of the world's lowest school enrolment rates for girls. But today it is one of more than 50 countries participating in UNICEF-assisted girls' education programmes. Women teachers are powerful role models, helping convince girls to complete secondary school before they get married.
