Junior 8 Summit

The Junior 8 Summit, or 'J8', is an annual forum where young people from around the world meet to share their concerns and recommendations on how to solve the global issues with G8 leaders and the world community. The Summit is a parallel youth event to the annual Group of 8 (G8) Summit of world leaders. This year’s J8 Summit will be held in Italy, in the first week of July.

At the J8 Summit, a team of young people represents each of the G8 countries: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States. An additional delegation of young people will other countries of the world, which are impacted by the decisions being discussed by world leaders.

Participants at the J8 Summit discuss their own ideas but also serve as representatives of all young people worldwide. Participants have the opportunity to present their ideas, opinions and proposals to the G8 leaders on the topics that are part of the G8 agenda.
