UNICEF South Africa Strategic Moment of ReflectionThe UNICEF South Africa Country Office (SACO) organised a Strategic Moment of Reflection (SMR) on Equity and Child Rights on 11 and 12 October 2010 in Pretoria. The SMR provided an opportunity for UNICEF South Africa to make use of the best advice from government, academia, civil society and other development partners to strengthen, within the framework of the cooperation between the United Nations System and the Government of South Africa, its strategic position as an essential partner for the realization of child rights in the country. The SMR firstly focused on understanding manifestations and determinants of inequities. Secondly, it concentrated on an in-depth analysis of the systemic bottlenecks in the delivery of quality services for children. Finally, participants were requested to make recommendations for UNICEF SACO‟s medium term strategic priorities. Reports from the meeting: Discussion Paper on Equity and Child Rights in South Africa
