Poet, actor, musician and humanitarian, Zola has emerged as the superstar of Kwaito and is a man with many talents. Zola is ever conscious of society’s growing needs, pains and tribulations, which is why he tackles issues such as prostitution, statutory rape and the need for fathers to step up to the plate and be real fathers in his new album titled “IBUTHO. Not only is Zola one of South Africa’s biggest kwaito artists but he has proven to be an imaginative entrepreneur. His television show, Zola 7 boasts a weekly viewership of 5 million and has been running since 2002. On the show, Zola has worked diligently at bringing broken families together and helped find shelter for homeless people. Other projects Zola has participated in include adopting over six Children’s Homes and Orphanages of which he closely works with the Emdeni Children’s Home in Soweto. As ambassador for the 2006 Global Campaign for Education, Zola went back to school with the Takalani Sesame Muppets. The event highlighted problems that both teachers and children are facing within Education 13 years after Democracy.
