At the onset of the emergency situation, UNICEF, in collaboration with its partners, mobilised a team of 120 volunteers in order to provide psycho-social support to evacuated children and families.  After a completed situation and needs assessment in 20 collective centres in Belgrade, designated teams now work on a daily basis with an estimated 700 children.  In each shelter a corner has been set-up where UNICEF has provided educational materials, toys and books. UNICEF is closely cooperating and coordinating its work with children with the City Secretariat for Social Welfare, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defence, as well as university faculties and civil sector partners.
