A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by RTS Acting General Director, Mr. Nikola Mirkov, and UNICEF Serbia Representative Michel Saint-Lot.

Belgrade, 1 April 2014 - Radio-Television of Serbia (RTS) and UNICEF today formally revitalized over a decade long cooperation on the promotion of child rights. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by RTS Acting General Director, Mr. Nikola Mirkov, and UNICEF Serbia Representative Michel Saint-Lot.

“UNICEF and the Radio-Television of Serbia have been cooperating for years. Today’s formal signing of a partnership agreement is a formal act that underlines the essence of our joint work and commitment to the promotion of child rights. Care for children and the realization of their rights lies in the heart of RTS, as a public service broadcaster. The agreement we have signed today will also contribute to a more intensive support to the work of UNICEF in Serbia”, said Mr. Nikola Mirkov of the RTS.

UNICEF Representative Michel Saint-Lot thanked the RTS for their support, saying that “this agreement will strengthen our partnership and better frame our joint activities in the next period. It will facilitate us to even better use the power of the Public Broadcasting Corporation to spotlight the attention of the public at large, decision makers, private sector, and other actors in the society to children, to their rights, their interests, talents, to services that are, or are still often not, available to them and their families…”
