Australia
Artist and Goodwill Ambassador Ken Done hosted the launch of Say Yes on 26 April, held at the Ken Done Gallery. As the campaign began spreading, media promotions were made jointly with NGOs, churches, State Children’s Commissions and others. The Coalition for Australia’s Children, comprised of 53 national NGOs, ran a Vote for Children campaign ahead of the general election in November, using Say Yes to encourage support. Celebrity endorsers included actor Geoffrey Rush. The Australian National Committee for UNICEF collaborated with popular children’s channel Nickelodeon to promote Say Yes through a national competition to elicit children and young people’s views on the significance of children’s rights. In preparation for the Special Session on Children, the Australian Committee also partnered with the national Human Rights Commissioner to conduct joint consultations around the country with NGOs, children and young people to ascertain community views on building an Australia fit for children.

New Zealand
Dame Silvia Cartwright, Governor General of New Zealand, launched Say Yes on 2 August. In addition to encouraging New Zealanders to pledge online, paper pledge forms were made available at bookstores and banks nationwide.
