How does my money reach the needy?

The Russian people have been donating to support UNICEF programme activities for over two years now, and we already have some achievements that we can be proud of. During 2005-2007, more than 10,000 people provided financial support to children in need and their families – the donations went to support victims of the Beslan tragedy, children and youngsters without parental care and orphans, and children with disabilities.

Step 1.  You choose the project and decide how much to donate.

Step 2.  You give an order to your bank to make a monthly transfer of your donation to UNICEF.

Step 3.  UNICEF receives your donation and allocates the amount to your selected project/NGO.
We accumulate your donations by projects and organize transfer of accumulated funds according to the project schedule. General donations to UNICEF will cover emergency needs of one of the current projects.

Step 4.  The NGO in question utilizes your donation for the needs of the specific group of children.
UNICEF is responsible for the selection and the check-up of reliability of the organizations - based on UNICEF standards. UNICEF especially pays attention that an NGO meets donation processing requirements, submits activity reports on time, minimizes administration expenses, and uses good practices.

Step 5.  UNICEF tracks every donation and ensures that the NGO sends us a report with details about beneficiaries.

Step 6.  We send a feedback report to you.
