Goodwill Ambassadors
Among UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors worldwide are many well-known personalities: actors, sportsmen, musicians and public figures. They support UNICEF by drawing public attention to child-related problems and help mobilize resources for programme implementation. Involvement of famous people in children’s lives opens up new prospects and opportunities for them. Anatoly Karpov, the world-famous chess player is UNICEF’s Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS, and Oleg Gazmanov, a singer and a composer and People’s Artist of Russia, as well as Oksana Fedorova, Miss Universe 2002, are UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassadors in Russia.
