24 June 2008: UNICEF statement about spam messagesDear friends! We received information about emails sent on behalf of UNICEF asking to disclose personal data. This data is allegedly required to receive an award. These emails are in no way related to UNICEF and we hope that no one suffers from this scam. UNICEF never asks for personal information by email. UNICEF would like to thank everyone for supporting our programmes to help children in Russia and assures that donors' personal information is protected against illegal access.
