December 7, 2007: Workshop "The Altyn-Kel Path"The Teletskiy inter-regional workshop “The Altyn-Kel Path – active children’s and youth tourism in the Altai-Sayansk region: Problems and Development Prospects” is scheduled to take place on the Lake Teletskoe in the Altai State National Park on December 7-10, 2007. The Teletskiy workshop will be attended by experts on prevention of child abandonment and juvenile delinquency from the Ministry of the Interior of the Altai Republic, staff of national parks and education system from the Kemerovo region, Krasnoyarsk and Altai territories, the Republic of Khakasiya and the Altai Republic, as well as organizers of active children’s and youth environmental-educational tourism in the Altai-Sayansk region. The workshop participants will discuss issues related to the prevention of social diseases among children and youth in Russia in the context of the reform of educational and social management systems. The workshop agenda will also focus on other issues concerning the development of an integrated approach to education and healthcare of the younger generation, with active environmental-educational tourism being undoubtedly a good example of the above. Besides, round tables will be arranged to allow for ample discussions of measures needed to arrange environmental camps and outdoor expeditions for disabled children and use resources of national partks to prevent social diseases among children and young people in Russia. The workshop participants are also expected to consider the creation of a network of active children’s and youth environmental-educational tourism routes in the Altai-Sayansk region as an integral part of the “childhood ecology” concept. The creation of such a network will facilitate the arrangement of activities promoting the prevention of social diseases among children and youth in Russia.
